I downloaded the latest dashboard update for the Xbox 360 yesterday and was really impressed. The terrible lag of the previous interface had been fixed and lots of great new features were introduced. What a shame then that the greatest dashboard improvement of all was ruined by badly thought out and sloppy pricing tactics…

Having taken a recent holiday,I found myself unable to take a holiday from the games themselves,spending most of my spare time getting to grips with my newly purchased Apple iTouch.I found myself constantly thinking one thing : why would anybody want to invest their hard earned money on the new upcoming Psp Go when they can purchase an ipod “Touch” for roughly the same price?

Capcom recently reported that “Monster Hunter Freedom Unite” has become the first PSP game ever to ship over 3.5 million units “worldwide” (95% Japan). Well done but for me, this title represents another missed opportunity that will result in the loss of millions of dollars in possible revenue for the industry…

There are now an unbelievable 13,000 games available on the Apple App store, 20% of the available applications on offer for the iPhone! Perhaps it won’t be long until buying and selling games over the internet and over console online services will soon resemble the same process of selling baked beans in a supermarket chain : presentation, packaging and price not quality or taste…

It says a lot about the health of the gaming industry in general when the hardware that seems to be struggling the most this generation, the Playstation Portable , has still managed a respectable 50 million worldwide sales since it’s launch in 2005. But a closer look at a recent title, “Resistance Retribution” reveals a lot of problems and attitudes that need to be addressed and changed before the launch of the Psp Go later this year…

Yes, the “King Of Pop” has gone and the world mourns : howling, weeping and grieving over it’s personal loss. A world that, less than a week ago, would have been quite happy to discuss his controversial private life with disdain and pity while quietly drooling with excitement as they passed judgement on the latest photo of his botched up face. But that’s human nature for you : hypocritical, inevitable and unabashed. Who’s next?
